| I've released four CD's since 2003, A Grateful Man (a collection of my own songs), These Songs Are Your Songs (featuring folk songs from the public domain) Cowboy Moon, (which includes thirteen of the most-loved songs from the Old West) and most recently, Charlie Spring (originally recorded in 2002... three alternate versions of my songs and two previously unrealeased tracks) I'm a self-taught musician... I play by ear but I have a pretty good sense of music theory that has been developed over a long period of time. I briefly studied voice in the early 1970's with the late George Peckham... I feel quite indebted to him because he taught me so much in such a small amount of time. Most of the time I perform solo (occasionally adding a fine rhythm section) at many of Western Washington's live music venues as well as festivals, (NW Folklife 2004-05-06-07, Tumbleweed Music Festival 2006, Yakima Folklife Festival 2006-07, Bellevue Festival of the Arts 2006-07) fairs, (Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair 2003-04-05), farmers markets, hayrides, hoedowns, house concerts, schools, benefits for good causes, weddings, private parties, art galleries, and special events. . In 2002, under the banner of Melody House Productions, I began to offer my music to a wider range of audiences which include seniors, children, developmentally disabled adults and children, assisted living patients, alzheimers patients, homeless men, women and children, and teen with special needs. Acting as my own booking agent, I do several performances a month for these audiences. I am also affiliated with Performing heARTS, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing life-enriching performing arts experiences to audiences who are unable to access them on their own. I do Performing heARTS sponsored performances and I serve on their Board of Directors. |

| I sing, play the guitar and occasionally the harmonica.. I've been performing as a singer-songwriter, bandleader and musician in the Seattle area since 1965 (with a few years off in the 70's and 80's). My live repitoire includes my original songs as well as a broad range of hundreds of folk, blues, country, standards, and old favorites. My early musical influences were from the 60's (yes, I was there), in particular the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. I got deep into the blues for several years, accompanying John Lee Hooker on several occasions as well as Albert Collins. Eventually I began to appreciate songwriters like Neil Young, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Willie Nelson, and Townes Van Zandt, to name just a few. |
