      A Grateful Man

A Grateful Man, my long-awaited debut CD!  Eleven original songs, recorded live in the studio... just me and my old Gibson guitar.
I waited a long time to finally make this recording... not for lack of material but for lack of money.  Then I met Ian Davis, a young sound engineer who recently moved from Pennsylvania to the Seattle area, who made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  The album has no punch-ins, no overdubs, just the real thing.  I hope you enjoy it!
Produced by Ian Davis and Charlie Spring at  Night Sky Studio, Bothell WA  c. 2003
   Charlie Spring

My first solo recording... done in 2002.  I finally got around to releasing it in 2007.  Includes alternate versions of Sun Outside My Door, A Real Fine Girl and Wayside Inn, plus two previously unreleased tracks.  The original working title was called Session at Tito's and was recorded at Malemute Productions Studio in Seattle..

I am very pleased with this recording...  Tito did I great job. I hope to work with with again someday.
     These Songs
    Are Your  Songs

These Songs Are Your Songs is a collection of many of my favorite songs from the Public Domain. Included are Oh Susannah, On Top Of Old Smokey, Turkey In The Straw, You Are My Sunshine, Down In the Valley, Wabash Cannonball, Stardust, I Shall Not Be Moved, Red River Valley, Goodnight Irene, and This Land Is Your Land.
Produced by Bill Wolford and Charlie Spring at Vividsound Productions in Seattle, most songs were recorded John Lomax style live in the studio  in just  one day, along  with four songs recorded live in concert before an intimate audience by Ian Davis, who co-produced my first album.  c.2004
     Cowboy Moon

When I was a little kid in the 1950's, I remember the time when I had my picture taken on a  shetland pony.  I was a big fan of the cowboy TV shows.  In fact, when my folks were amused at something I did, they would call me a character... to which I replied, "I'm not a character, I'm a cowboy!"
So began my love of cowboy songs... and I've still got that picture of me on that pony in full cowboy garb, from the ten gallon hat all the way down to the six-shooters, chaps, boots, and spurs!
This album includes
Red River Valley, Back in the Saddle Again, I've Got Spurs That Jingle Jangle Jingle, Cool Water,  Springtime in the Rockies, Ghostriders in the Sky, San Antonio Rose, I'm an Old Cowhand from the Rio Grande, Cattle Call, Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie, Tumbling Tumbleweeds,  Home on the Range, and Happy Trails!
Produced by Chris Glanister and Charlie Spring at Shoestring Studios, Edmonds, WA  c.2006 all rights reserved
